Beaucoup de Vanille
Beaucoup de Vanille
The name of this fragrance literally translates to “lots of vanilla”. While is does in fact live up to it’s namesake, I felt it would be better to describe this perfume with a story instead of just listing it’s notes, because it is so much more than the sum of its parts. Beaucoup de Vanille opens up as if you’re walking through an orange grove and smelling orange blossoms for the first time. Crisp and cool spring time air allows the scent to dance so that with each blow of the breeze you catch a different aspect. Sometimes it’s neroli; sometimes it’s the almost photorealistic olfactory representation of what the color green actually would be. Throughout the life of this scent you consistently get the aroma of different varieties of vanilla beans in different forms. The floral aspect of the vanilla orchid, sun ripened tropical fruits, cacao, coffee, and of course the signature sweetness. The breeze is also perfumed with jasmine and plumeria. When you listen closely you can hear the ocean in the distance and can smell the saltiness in the air. Coconut water, fresh fruits, and spices add a natural sweetness and smoothness to the scent. Orris butter lends a cashmere like aroma that is something you can almost feel in your nose as it is a smell. An amber base of cacao, coffee and lightly animalic musks round out this fragrance and gives it depth and richness.
