Vagabond 404 is a nod to a previous popular creation of mine (V.S.O.P.) but reimagined to highlight my growth and reflect on recent experiences. It opens with aromatic spices of cardamom, pink pepper, coriander, a hint of caramel coffee and a house made tincture of Madagascar vanilla beans. Creamy white florals of tuberose, tobacco flower and jasmine sambac paired with rose absolute carry you through to the next act. The base is that of a dark and slightly animalic amber accord of benzoin, labdanum, sandalwood, tobacco, a touch of cognac, and the aroma of the last sip of coffee. I used the word “medium” because I found that during my days of having coffee every day at 5 am from my favorite spot, that was the size that had the best ratio of caramel and cream. The small was too robust and large ended up being too sweet.
